Kate and Sam are two young musicians making more than respectable names for themselves in the folk world! They met when both were regulars at the Cottingham Folk Club while serving out respective time at University.
Kate is a singer songwriter and fiddler who is currently touring with Jez Lowe's Bad Pennies who have been as far afield as the USA and continental Europe, and have just made a new album 'Honesty Box' Featuring Sam Pirt as guest musician on five tracks. She also plays regularly with US bluegrass/folk duo Sweetgrass, based in Montana.
As a duo these two cover a wide range of tunes and songs from many sources, from the lively and raucous tunes of many nations, Kate's own songs through to contemplative ballads or contemporary covers. Look forward to an entertaining and moving evening!
