Sam's father, Graham Pirt is one of the most respected singers on the folk scene. For almost twenty years he has been a member of the internationally known harmony group Cockersdale. Sam and Graham form a duo performing songs and tunes, mainly from the Northumbrian tradition. The quality of their performance is enhanced by the humour and the relationship that comes across to all audiences.
